Can anyone tell me if you can have a child domain as
native mode but with its parent as mixed.

Example:

domain.com Mixed Mode
child.domain.com Native Mode

Thanks,

DGC.

DGC,

Yes, you can. The "mode" of one domain in a Domain Tree does not affect the
mode of another domain in that same Domain Tree ( or other Domain Tree in
the Forest, for that matter ). Just be aware of what each mode means:
Native Mode means that there can not be any WINNT 4.0 BDCs and a couple of
things become available ( Universal Groups and group nesting ) while Mixed
Mode means that there can be WINNT 4.0 BDCs and those 'couple things'
mentioned above are not available.

HTH,

Cary

Thanks very much for your help.
