National characters

My last question may have been a bit too specific..

I've encountered several problems with DNS after adding zones with
national characters (norwegian ÆØÅ) in their names. Today I had to
reinstall dns and clear my configuration to even get the service to
start..

Does anyone else use national characters in your zonenames, and could
give me some tips? Any implications/workarounds/things I should know?

Best regards,
Eric Carr

On the properties of the DNS server in the DNS mmc, go to the Advanced tab. Change "Name Checking" to "All Names". This
may help. Just beware, these charactors are not supported in DNS.

Thanks!
Hopefully that will prevent the problem when the next reboot is due
:-)

However, the .no TLD registrar will soon start allowing national
characters in domain names, and as a registrar, we need to support
this. How can we implement it properly in win2000 DNS? I can't find
any documentation on this anywhere..

Best regards,
Eric Carr
