I have set a dial on demand connection for NAT on a win2k domain controller
but it starts dialing out without any request from the users and I have
captured network traffic by Netwok monitor and noticed that there are some
standard queries to www.Microsoft.com which is generated automatically from
windows XP and 2000 clients.
I don't want my dial on deman interface only dial out when users want to not
by background proccesses!
any help?

thanks in advance,
Saeed Pazoki

Does the ipconfig/all on the clients show that everything is pointing to the
server-IP? Have you checked the clients for viruses and spyware? Do they
have MSN active?

clients to not have connectivity problem while the dial on deman interface
is connected! the problem is that once the connection reaches the idle time
and disconnectes it starts connecting again without any request sent from
the client machines.

Disconnect the modem and have a look at the eventlogs to see what is wanting
to dial out.

What are these queries for ? If these are limited set of queries such as
for windows update, you may want to make them manual instead of automatic.

Thanks,
