1:1 means that there is a 1:1 relationship between the translated and
original addresses. If you have a single server at 10.10.10.2 that
translates to 192.168.1.2, that's 1:1.
1:N means that there is a one to (possibly) many relationship between the
translated address and the original addresses. If the entire network at
10.10.10/24 translates to 192.168.1.2, that's 1:N.
