Nascar Game exits when cars crashes

I'm running Nascar 2002, this program used to run well, but now whenever a car crashes the game shuts down and exits. I have to restart the game and start over. I have re-installed the game several times and also update Direct X. I'm at a loss of what to do next, ANY help would be greatly appreciated!!!

In addition to the patch Jimmy recommended, I would suggest you look up the
rec.auto.simulators newsgroup available on most public news servers. The do
a whole lot of NASCAR racing over there and are quite helpful.
