I am trying to embed a sound file, synced w/ the slides of
a presentation just like a live voice narration. I cannot
get powerpoint to record from windows media player instead
of the microphone. Is it possible to do this?

I get sound-but it is from the mic recording the sound
from the speakers, not from the sound file being directly
recorded into the presentation. The current method
produces too much background noise and the narration
isn't nearly loud enough.

Also, how do I turn off the microhone althogether to avoid
background noise and only record the audio from the sound
file???

Thanks very much ind advance for any help!

There is an online demonstration for just this procedure, at www.oldfco.ca/tutorial/pptohtml.html . If this is what your looking for, come back and we will explain how it is done for non online presentations.
