How do you give titles (names) to individual slides? When I put my curser
over a slide, it says untitled. I tried right clicking but there was no
option for that. do I have to be in a specific view? I didn't see anything
in the slide sorter view either.

Thanks

Hi Alanna

PowerPoint gets the title from whatever is in the title placeholder (the bit
where it says 'click here to add title'). If you don't want it to show on
screen, either drag it off the slide or make the text the same colour as the
background.

Does the slide have any text in the Title? Usually this is where the name
comes from. Be aware that sometimes commas confuse PowerPoint, so if there
is a title with a comma, it may not be able to read it.

Aha - this is the problem. I always start with a clear screen and delete
the title holders.

Ahh yes - I tend to go for title only & then drag it off the slide. But only
as I never use bullet points - if you use text you are best spending the time
setting up the master and using the placeholders as it makes
updating/controlling fonts & sizes etc so much easier. The number of client
files I'm sent that are full of text, none of which is in a placeholder....
Just makes their lives harder.

Excellent suggestion to keep the title and drag it off. I don't like using
bullet points either - I'm a visual person!
