In PP2003 how can I name slides without the slide name appearing on the
slide itself?

For example: My opening slide has only got a couple of company logos in
it. I want to call it 'opening slide' for reference purposes.

If I type the name in via the 'outline pane' the name appears on the
slide itself.

I have a series of slides that are just called by the number. I want to
name them so I can go back to them during the presentation. 'Hmm you
want to see the picture of the brickwork again? I wonder if that was
slide 3? No, it might be slide 5'

Type the text into the outline. This shows the text in the title
placeholder. Drag the title placeholder off the top edge of the slide, where
it won't show during the slide show.

You can also do this on the slide master (View|Master|Slide Master) so you
don't have to do it manually for each individual slide.

Shyam Pallai has a free add-in available for download at this site:
http://skp.mvps.org/download.htm
It is entitled "Rename Shape/Slide add-in." Instructions for installing
it come in a readme text file that is unzipped along with the .ppa
file.
To rename a slide you need to be in Slide Sorter View. Shapes on a
slide can be done in the Normal View.
