namespace naming of seperate forests

Can two seperate forests contain a parent/child naming
scheme IE..
Forest1 = mywork.com
Forest2 = nights.mywork.com

Well, yes, but it will create confusion and there may be possible name
clashing.
Not recommended to do this. Your example implies more of a parent/child
relationship and not separate forests, but yes, this can be done, but not
recommended. Choose another name for the other forest, such as:
mywork.com
mynights.com

Yes, in some sense the Forest doesn't "really" have a name but everyone
refers
to the forest by the name of the "root forest domain" (i.e., the first
domain
name defined in the forest.)

The above design is legal, but presumes that nights.mywork.com will NEVER
be in the same Enterprise (or there is some odd political or security
consideration
that causes them to want to be treated separately.)

The "normal" design is that nights is a child or mywork.com
 
Technically speaking this is entirely possible but as the other replies have stated, it wouldn't be recommended. What exactly are you trying to accomplish with
this setup?
