names entered into address book don't show up

Why is it when I enter a new contact into address book and then look for it,
it isn't there? Then I re-enter as new, and get a msg that says the person
is already in my contacts?
 
There is no address book in Outlook. It is only a view of your Contacts
Folder. It should never be used for data entry or editing. Do that in your
Contacts Folder.
