Names disappearing from distribution lists

I have a strange problem i wonder if anyone else has encountered. I have distribution lists set up that I never change. Lately, I noticed by chance that one of them is missing 4 names. There is no rhyme or reason to this, I have not changed anything, but they are gone. I have re-entered them, but it scares me to wonder first how long this has been, and if it will happen again. It is difficult even to tell, because outlook does not show the names on the list, just the group name, when you send. You can only tell who it sent to after it has been sent. Any ideas?

I have encountered the same problem several times. I have
made it a habit to check the "properties" on the
distribution list before I send an email to the list.
Even with this precaution, however, names still
mysteriously drop off and in one case, a name I had
deleted was reinserted...several different times. And
yes, before you ask, I did "save" and "update", to no
avail. Anyone know what this problem is related to and
how to solve, short of recreating every list (which i've
done but it keeps happening.) i am running win 2000 with
Outlook 2002. I'd appreciate any help/suggestions.
