Hi, I have recently installed Canon Easy-WebPrint 2.6.4 and it worked
perfectly. After trying all the options, I decided to remove the trial
version of PunkPrint, since it just expired and it had become useless
anyway. From that moment on, everything still works fine, but the
easy-webprint toolbar is nameless (IE > View > Toolbars).

I can show/hide the toolbar the flagging/unflagging the empty line; I
tried everything I could think of: hijackthis, bholist, toolbarcop all
say that there is a toolbar and it's name is "Easy-WebPrint"! except,
it shows no name...

Even unistalled it, reinstalled it, went down to version 2.6.3 (no
dice), went back to 2.6.4...

Any ideas on how to fix the glitch?

Thank you in advance for any help you may provide, Lupo

Dear Ramesh, thx for your reply. My intention is not to remove the
toolbar, since I find it very useful, but to just have a name for it,
as I did when I first installed it. Sorry for not making that clear in
my first post...

You will have to edit the registry to rename that entry in IE's Tools menu.
It will be under the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar

There's probably a blank in the data section of the key with the CLSID of
said toolbar

Before you edit the registry, make sure you understand how to restore it if
a problem occurs. For information about how to do this, view the "Restoring
the Registry" Help topic in Regedit.exe or the "Restoring a Registry Key"
Help topic in Regedt32.exe.

This is a long-standing buf in IE. So far as I know, there's no sure fix.
Sometimes uninstalling all toobars and reinstalling them helps, and
sometimes it doesn't. You may just have to live with it.

See if this helps:
1 - Uninstall Canon Easy-WebPrint
2 - "Reset Internet Explorer's Toolbar Menu":

OK, it can be renamed. Can you post the GUID string for the toolbar?

First of all, thank you all for great support. I fixed it, thanks to
Vincenzo, but here is what I did exactly:

Looked in the registry as JRK said: key (CLSID) was present and rightly
named;

Gary: "live with it": I am not aware of that term :) Somebody once told
me to "linux with it": did; after writing 22 lines of C++ just to have
my pixma print, reverted back to XP...

Vincenzo: did as suggested:

Unistalled Prog
Went to registry and killed all istances of "punk" and "webprint" found
Restarted
Google fix: no google bar installed = error communicating with google
toolbar...
Dougknox: restore both IE & WE settings, just to be on the safe side...
Restarted
Installed Prog from source, redownloading, just in case...
:-) WORKS :-)

Needless to say: "punk" refers to printpunk, whose unistallation gave
me the problem initially...

Again, thank you all.

Hi, the string is:

Name: {327C2873-E90D-4c37-AA9D-10AC9BABA46C}
Type: REG_SZ
Value: Easy-WebPrint

After fixing it, I tried renaming the content to "Ciao", restarting and
checking: it still shows Easy-WebPrint; so I doubt it can renamed that
easily... It had value set to "Easy-WebPrint" when it was nameless as
well...

The registry position for the above key is:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar

Ciao, Lupo

Lupo,

Try renaming the (default) Value here:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{327C2873-E90D-4c37-AA9D-10AC9BABA46C}

In case you're using IE7, read the note here:
