CHARLES

Excuse my stupid question, but I guess that's why "new
users" is here. When I originally installed XP, in some
titleing window name, I now I realize I made a mistake
because I entered my name-2spaces-my son's name-2spaces
and my wife's name ... Now whenever ANY listing appears,
ALL of our names are listed, and this causes the file
lines to be extremely long.
Is there any way to reset this without have to totally
reinstall XP ? Can't believe how stupid I feel
Thanks

charles,

it would be nice to know where that "listing" is and what you are trying to
do.

if you mean during the logon screen, you may change it by opening the
control panel (start > control panel)
open the user accounts applet
click on your account
click change my name etc...

hope you could reply so we could answer your question for you.

regards,
dennis

Dennis .. thank's for responding. I'll try to be more
specific with the info .. whenever a program is viewed by
the list or view, all of our names appear ... it's not in
the set up of the names of the user's for the opening
screen .. I'm afraid it is deeply embedded into
everything. An example would be viewing a list of
temporary files .. will appear as this:
"C:\Documents and Settings\My name__My son's name__my
wife's name\Local settings\Temporary Files" .. so each
time if list or view a file, this makes them lengthy and
I have to expand to view files.
Think I'm stuck with it ??
Thanks for your response and your help.
