Name only in contacts, without sending e-mail address

I am trying to come up with a way to send e-mail, showing
only the name of those receiving, and not show the e-
mail address.

I understand BC, but I want to show name, not share the
address.

Some months back, on a newsgroup was told that Outlook
2003 could do this, but unable to find any that documents
this prior to my purchasing new software.

You are expressing a common misperception. This has nothing to do with
Outlook. You cannot send email without "sharing" the email address. What
appears in your local To: field is of no consequence. The actual email
address always appears in the email header and is completely discoverable,
no matter what email software you are using.
