I recently moved from 98 to XP and loaded Office from the
same old disks.

When I write a message now and put in a partial name
like "Smith", all of the name choices have (e-mail) after
them now, like:
Smith, John (e-mail)
Smith, Kelly (e-mail)

Same with when I just click "To" and look at the list.
They all have it; both the imported ones and ones that I
add.

It's not a huge problem, but it does make my notes longer
when I do a distribution list to see (e-mail) over and
over again. What made this start happening? I'm on
Outlook 2000 SP-3 v. 9.0.0.6627. Thanks!

That's to distinguish it from other addresses in Outlook that you might be
sending to. For instance, if you enter a second email address in a contact,
you'll see that an (E-mail 2) option also appears. Fax numbers can also
theoretically be sent to from Outlook so those may appear as well.
