It's a search engine--modeled (modeled?? Looks like they just copied
Yahoo's source and deleted stuff) after Yahoo.
But no Banners--almost nothing to leech bandwidth. No color ads--just
an annoying list of text ads that precede whatever you search for. All
ads are text.
They offer e-mail and other services. Seem quite willing to rely on
google or yahoo services too--if you'll just use myway as your "portal".
They'll configure the links you hit in myway (like "e-mail") to go to
Yahoo or MSN or whatever if that's what you want. (Looks like maybe
that's what they want).
The e-mail engine and other content looked like a variant on what excite
uses so I did a search and sure enough they bought excite--but their
version is simpler/cleaner. I like the concept--but it's almost
shocking after the Internet you are used to.
They don't require an e-mail address to set-up an e-mail account with them.
Anyone else checked this out? www.myway.com
