MyWay Speedbar

Ranger

Microsoft Antispyware is picking up MyWay Speedbar as a
threat. What can I do about this? Thanks

Here's full removal for Myweb :


Click on Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove
Programs

Scroll through the program listings until you find "MyWay
Speedbar" and then click "Remove".



Manual Removal (You may not need any of this)

Click on "My Computer".

Navigate to "C:\Program Files\". If you can't find it
click on Start > Search > For Files or Folders and type
in "MyWay".

Delete the folder "C:\Program Files\MyWay"


Click on Start > Run and type

regedit

then click "OK".


Scroll down to the folder named: 'HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT"

Move to the sub folder "Interface". MyWay inserts
registry keys here which can be removed by deleting the
folder:

Interface\{0494D0D4-F8E0-41AD-92A3-14154ECE70AC}

Also remove these if found :

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\clsid\

04079851-5845-4dea-848C-3ECD647AA554

014da6cd-189f-421a-88cd-07cfe51cff10

0494D0D4-F8E0-41AD-92A3-14154ECE70AC



if you are still having problems download Hijack This

Unpack it to its own folder(either c/drive or desktop)
choose to run a scan and save the logfile.

The entries connected to this will look like this :

If the Myway entries show up fix them(close all other
open windows,put a check next to the entries and then
choose'fix checked'

Files\MyWay\SrchAstt\2.bin\MYSRCHAS.DLL

Files\MyWay\myBar\2.bin\MYBAR.DLL


Also check the 016 entries for anything suspicious,

If you don't recognize the name of the object, or the URL
it was downloaded from, have HijackThis fix it. If the
name or URL contains words
like 'dialer', 'casino', 'free_plugin' etc, definitely
fix it .post the log if you have any problems.


Download Ccleaner and run it on all 3 settings
(windows,applications & issues) to clear all temp and
unused files

You will probably find the myway speedbar entry in
add/remove screen will remove this easily enough but i
thought id post full details incase you have any problems
