Mystery Icon on My Desktop

I have an icon titled New Project with what looks like an image on it of a
page (corner folded over) on the desktop. It may have gotten there when I
was using my Vegas 6.0 video editor program and saved a project. In any
case, it seems invisible to operations. I cannot open or use it in anyway
with a mouse click. The icon's text seems transparent. If I move a window
near it, the window is under the icon. It's also covering the "My Computer"
icon, and its text show Ctrl-N. Using that key pattern, nothing happens.
When I display all items on the desktop, it does not show this icon. Comments?

Change the wallpaper and see if it's still there.

Nothing happened. I pulled My Computer out from underneath it, and put it
some place else. I'm going to reboot.
