I often recieve notification of failed e-mail delivery of e-mails I did not
send to addresses I have never heard of. In these notifications my address
and the target address are always prefaced by the number 34.

Is my computer sending out spam without my knowlege ?
If so ,what do I do.

I'm using XP Home Ed., with Windows defender, Norton antivirus, and Spy On
this anti malware.

Probably not. The most likely source of these is that somebody else's
machine has an infection, your email address is on the machine somewhere,
and it is sending out emails that are spoofing your email address as the
return address.
