Perhaps someone can help me solve a dilemma I have been
experiencing with Windows XP Home. When I am finished on
the computer and want to Shut it Down, I have only been
using Hibernate lately. WHY? This is because if I choose
the red tab "Turn Off", the computer shuts down alright,
but then 3 or 4 minutes later the computer mysteriously
starts up and brings me back to my password screen. What
a pain, and now it has even rebooted on its own
from "Hibernate". I know the halloween season is upon us,
but this posessed computer stuff is a real killer. Can
anyone in Whoville help with this eminent problem.

Regards, help is appreciated sirs and madame,

nathan

You will need to take a look at the applications that
would require updating. Many of these are configured for
automatic updates and you may have enabled a feature
like "dial my network connection when one isn't present"
or "allow this feature to bring the OS out of standby. I
suggest you begin you adventure in the help and support
centre under the start button. Type in standby and click
the arrow. There are 35 articles in three sub heading
here. Read Read Read. Keep smiling.

I remember a similar ? not to long ago and the answer
that was given was that their power supply(wall outlet)
was unstable
