Mysterious System Restart

Perhaps someone can help me solve a dilemma I have been
experiencing with Windows XP Home. When I am finished on
the computer and want to Shut it Down, I have only been
using Hibernate lately. WHY? This is because if I choose
the red tab "Shut Down", the computer shuts down alright,
but then 3 or 4 minutes later the computer mysteriously
starts up and brings me back to my password screen. What
a pain, and now it has even rebooted on its own
from "Hibernate". I know the halloween season is upon us,
but this posessed computer stuff is a real killer. Can
anyone in Whoville help with this eminent problem.

Regards, help is appreciated sirs and madame,

nathan

It sounds as though you have wake on lan enabled. When you boot the system,
the first screen has a message explaining hot to enter setup and a key to
depress, do so. Once inside you'll have to navigate around but look for
wake on LAN and turn it off, then save and exit.
