I have been having a problem with my system. Suddenly, the entire system
shuts off and reboots. I have the automatic restarts disabled, and if all
things are equal,I should at least be getting a "blue screen of death". So,
I think it is NOT a Stop error. Then when I check my Event log, I see it is
always caused by Security Center. This Windows XP SP2 feature, for some
reason, seems to be shutting me down at its leisure. Is there a setting to
prevent this? Has anyone heard of this problem? And if there are no
settings to correct, how do I diable the security center entirely? Thanks
for any help.
I have P4 3.4. with 1 Gb of memory, with XP PRO with SP2, and an nvidia 6600
card with 256k, so I don't think it is a matter of resources.

What are you doing when your system shuts down? (ie running a specific
program) If the system shuts down while it is idle it could be a heat
related issue.

your system is either really hot, you chose "let windows install automatic
updates without approval," or infected with viruses.
