Hi - I am writing a database application for my fiancee who wants to use it
to store information from the journals she references in the course of her
PHD study. It's a pretty simple application (good job as I am very rusty
indeed) but I am finding that when I export a report to MS WORD (it must be
editable) there are some "hard Returns" in there that are getting in the
way of subsequent formatting (hanging indents).

Can anyone throw any light onto this or give me a better alternative
getting the data (of which there is a lot).

Colin,

Can you say what method you are using to export the data, with some
examples of where this problem arises, and if this data is getting
generated via calculated fields ina query or calculated controls on a
report, details of the calculation expressions being used? Thanks.

Hi - sorry for the delay, been out of the office.
I am exporting as an RTF file via a macro - the outputted file seems to
inherit "hard" returns at the point of the "wrap" at the end of the text
box in the report.
The problem this causes is that I have to back space the return to get rid
of it so that I can perform an auto format, namely a hanging indent on the
text in the document.
If it were just one or two paragraphs it wouldn't be a major problem but I
am talking about quite a lot of information.

Hope you can help
Col
