mysterious file

[concerned novice]

I have a read-only file (identified with MSN file icon)
entitled "fwsmnwi" in the temporary folder of my local
settings. This file just popped up a couple of days ago
and is resistant to removal or editing. When I try to
remove it I receive a sharing violation message despite
having all applications closed. It appears to be indexing
all of the websites that I visit and therefore growing
rapidly in size. What is it and how can I get rid of it?

do a search for the file and find out which processes have
a handle on it. terminate the process or force closeure of
the handle, this should enable deletion therafter.

ensure your pc is secure afterwards.
