I keep getting mysterious e-mails that have been sent from my address (that I have not sent). Is this the work of a spyware program or virus? I currently run Ad-Aware several times daily but the e-mails are still being sent. Can anyone help? Please be gentle, I'm in no way shape or form a computer guru. Thanks a bunch!

If I'm not mistaken this is a virus, and its not your
computer that is affected, you are just unfortunate that
you are receving them. I receive about a hundred a day.
I think its the MyDoom virus or Netsky. It will
eventually stop when infected poeple realise they have
the virus and fix it.

Sounds just like you are on a mailing list. I had it once and wound up
dropping the account because it got filled with junk.Even my spamkiller
couldn't keep up with it.
BTW: NEVER use your real email address in the newsgroup. Most of us are
normal and do not wish you any harm; but there are some "dubious" people who
log themselves in looking for "Fresh meat" meaning fresh and real email
addresses that they can fill you up with spam and viruses. So it this here
is your real email address, I would recommend finding a new one and dumping
this one right away; because in a very short period of time your mail box is
going to be more full than it is now, and only with junk.

I hope I could help

No, what she's experiencing is someone *else* that has her in their address
book and has a virus. Many viruses nowdays send using random "from"
addresses that they find on the infected user's system, which makes it
harder to figure out who's infected...
