Mysterious *.ABI file keeps reappearing

I would like to find out what application generates this file. I suspect it
may be malicious software or spyware. As far as I can determine, an ABI
extension has to do with encryption software, but I don't use anything like
that currently.

The file has no creation or modify date.

It appears in "Documents and Settings/William/Local Settings/Temp" Is there
a way to find out what application that is opening the file, or trying to
access it?

Then I can disable the application, EXE, or whatever.

thanks ! ! !

Have you done any scanning for malware? Does right-clicking on the file and
choosing Properties give any help - a Version tab with the maker's name
perhaps? Have you Googled the file's full name, not just the extension?

Hi Malke;

Yes, I have tried the obvious things, like spyware scans, anti-virus, etc.
The only thing I have found is that the file is generated from some kind of
encryption software, but it does not say what is being encrpyted.

I have a feeling that the file name is randomly generated, that's probably
why searching for it does not get any results.

I'll try the WEB site you suggested.
