I am having DVD problems with the Riven DVD, which is part of the Myst! 10th
Anniversary DVD Collection. There is text file on it which states that I
could "play" a MPEG-2 DVD video version of "The Making of Riven" documentary
movie, either on the DVD-Rom drive or a DVD player (TV). I have tried both
without success and tech support from UBI.COM has not been helpful.

Has anyone else encountered this???

Hi Yves,

I've never encountered that problem, however perhaps you
have received DVD's with the wrong regional encoding. If
you bought them from a retailer recently, test out that theory
by asking them to try playing the disc in their own DVD player.

Afterwards, perhaps UBI will be more inclined to provide a
replacement set, if their retailer confirms the issue with them. GL ;-)

UBI support now has come back and stated that the MPEG-2 DVD video version
of the "making" video may n ot have made it into the final retail DVD
package.

Well that's no fun. Did you pick up the North American
release, or is that a special package for Canada / Québec?

Quebec has a certain legislation about new releases having to
be available in both languages in order to be sold. It's a
long shot, but maybe they didn't include that DVD because
they couldn't translate it in time. Again, it's just speculation.

With that said, I notice UBI has some aggressive marketing
strategies, including inside the Montréal Metros.

It seems to be the N.A. release and the DVDs have the bi-lingual versions.
It just that UBI may have remove the MPEG-2 DVD version but forgot to remove
the reference to it.
