Pretty nice update. The options menu looks nicer, the skins menu now lets
you audition the skins quicker, and bug fixes are always nice. The fact that
no bloat was added is always nice too.

I can't think much they could add to it. Quite a lot of things are
added with the separate add-ons. Normal IE feels like T-Ford compared
to this "Ferrari MYIE2"

True. I can't think of any features it needs either.

The configuration options menus could always use tweaking. Because there are
so many features, MyIE2 needs the most logical menus possible.

i installed it then noticed it came bundled with ucmore. so i
uninstalled it again.

This Ucmore-helper plugin has been discussed in MYiE2 forums. It is
NOT the Ucmore spyware but a helper utility if you for some reason
want to use UCmore. It makes it compatible with MyIe2. There has been
requests to remove it from the default installation package. And you
don't have to install it if you do not need it. MyIe2 has been several
times been proven Ad- and spywarefree.

That's your loss. That's like throwing away an oyster with a pearl inside.
All you have to do is un-check UCMore, and it installs cleanly.

"The oyster was not perfect, there was some kind of round stone
inside, so I throw it away. :-]"

Hey, Bob. How goes it?

I think the complaint was that the oyster had bacteria in it (as opposed to
a pearl), otherwise |3iff wouldn't have felt compelled to toss it out.
Arguably, |3iff's diagnosis was incorrect, as others have duly noted the
UCMORE plug-in is not malware and can easily be ignored during
installation.

It is a shame that the MyIE2 developers have continued to include this
highly misunderstood plug-in. Despite urging from users to remove it from
the distribution package for the very reason that it [however incorrectly]
tarnishes the rep of MyIE2 and causes less knowledgeable would-be users to
spread misinformation, it remains. It's probably among the most useless and
least used of any available plug-in, anyway.

The MyIE2 developers are otherwise keen to listen to users; to wit, did you
notice that the ham-handed replacement of a user's default search engine
(likely Google) with SteadySearch has been addressed? The replacement
occurred with the last couple of updates but does not happen with v.0918.

See ya.

To |3iff,

If your only issue (thus far) was the UCMORE plug-in, I recommend you do
some further investigation (rather than take our word for it) and try MyIE2
again, as MyIE2 can be a valuable tool in your browsing arsenal (even if
you otherwise are partial to Mozilla / Firefox).

Another thing that may put you off initially is the "Donate" screen which
appears on first run, but it is easily dismissed, and everything is smooth
sailing from there-on-out.

With version 0.9.18 BloodChen and his group have addressed my final
quibble with MyIE2 - the file download window no longer closes when
the main window is closed. All my scripts work again, and I was so
delighted that I actually at long last donated some cash money to the
cause. After all, I probably get more use out of MyIE2 than many
commercial progs that I've paid a lot more for.

no thanks. it's the principle involved with garbage like that even
being bundled in the first place. a legitimately decent software would
never even have presented it as an option.

and those funky default search engines seemed a bit on the dodgy side
too. beware of this one...

Would anyone who has extensively used both MyIE2 and Avantbrowser care
to comment why one may be better than the other? I'm very happy with
Avantbrowser, and I think the name "MyIE2" really bites, but I'm always
willing to be convinced otherwise.

but the bacteria was still there none the less, so into the trash heap
it went.

and their goofy choices in default search engines. google is just fine
for me thanks.

then you must not have used a whole lot of software. MyIE2 is total
crapware that bundles other crapware. maybe a more apropos name would
be MyCW2...

then they shouldn't have just labled it 'ucmore' since the second i
saw that, out it went.
