Of course Alexa is associated with spyware, so this makes me go "hmmmm"

Wonder if this is innocent and necessary, or spyware? I have asked about it
on the MyIE2 forum, and will report what I hear.

If IsAlexa(strURL) = True Then MsgBox "Kill it now!!!!!!", vbOkOnly +
vbCritical, "Alexa IS Spyware!"

Public Function IsAlexa(strURL As String) As Boolean
If Left$(strURL, 17) = "http://info.alexa" Then
IsAlexa = True
Else
IsAlexa = False
End If
End Function

Asking MyIE2 authors/users if something in their own program is spyware, is
like asking Mr Blair if he really IS honest, and asking the Queen if she
really IS English!

I wasn't asking the authors. I was asking on the forum.

I got a great answer too. All it is is a service that one can choose to use
or not. Who knows? I may even use it some day. Naaaahhh... :)

Theres nothing hidden about it.It comes bundled with IE too as a search
engine. If you hit the arrow down button (go) on the address bar ,youll
see alexa engine is used for related links and details for any particular
website that you use.If you use alexa to search for details of a site or
related links then it probably tracks you with a cookie ,but then again
so does google. You can disable it in setup centre under translation and
service.Just make sure you dont have any bhos attached to your
browser.UCmore is probably worse than alexa but you do have the choice of
whether to install it or not.

Or for that matter asking any past present or future politician
and asking the Queen if she really IS English!

You mean that someone really believes that the family descended from Victoria
Von Saxen-Coburg-Gotha von Lueneburg is English?

Of course their marketing department adapted the family's name to the local
market, but in the mind of many, a bunch of German aristocrats by any other
name still remain...

(just teasing. Ofc I can't care less about those relics from medieval times)

It ain't so.

I've used MyIE2 since version 1.0 - and it's now at v1.03, and
I don't have Alexa on board - unless Ad-aware is in on the
great conspiracy to decieve and inveigle their napharious way
onto my beige box. Hmmmmmmmm. I'd better encrypt my nekkid
pikktures of Britney...
