which is the best ?

haven't tried MyIE lately. last version I tried it really did screw
up any IE related settings and the application quick launch never
seemed to work; this is on XP Home.

I've seen this thread a lot. I'm still torn between MYIE2 and Firefox. I
think that MYIE2 has the best features but Firefox is pretty close.
(Standards compliant, etc.) MYIE2 is by far the best IE shell.

Thanks,

Eric

I tried most of the shells, and would agree that MyIE2 is the best --
of the free IE shells. (The qualification is because I *much*
preferred the features of the paid-for iRider shell.)

I've switched to Firefox, though, as I prefer a browser with an
integral rendering engine. (A personal preference rather than a rabid
anti-IE stance.)

MyIE2 can use Gecko engine, only experimental, but seems to work

Is there any particular advantage to using MyIE2 over Firefox, though?

(What I mean is that whilst I see clear advantages of MyIE over IE, I
don't see a similar advantage over Firefox.)

I tried Firefox, and MyIE has much more options, more comfortable tab
implementation...but in the end I suppose it's a matter of habit.

Although FireFox seems to have most of the functionality of MyIE2, I just
can't get comfortable with it. It reminds me of trying to use a mouse with
my left hand. I'm pecking away at it, and practicing. When I crunch the
learning curve and get comfortable with it, I can make a real comparison.

There's nothing I like more than finding a better program than the one I
currently use. "Better" has nothing to do with petty politics. It doesn't
matter to me if it's Mozilla, IE, Opera, or XYZ. I'm easy that way. :)

in firefox try -> options -> extensions click get new extensions
i recommend tabbrowser extensions more options than all other browsers together :)

I think that's probably why I didn't notice anything major lacking in
Firefox -- I installed TBE first thing (as I assumed I'd want the added
features), and thus have never really used Firefox without it.

That would be the one that does what YOU want it to do. What's best for be
may be totally useless to you. I prefer Avant.

I looked at MyIE once upon a time but wasn't impressed. I use SlimBrowser
constantly now as it has everything I want in a browser.
