IF you have a DNS server in local.mydomain, then what you'll do is:
on the DNS server in mydomain, right-click on the zone named "mydomain" and
click "New Delegation".
Follow the Wizard and type in "Local" as the "delegated domain"
Type in the name (or IP address) of the DNS server in local.mydomain and
finish the Wizard
On the DNS server in local.mydomain there should already be a zone called
local.mydomain. If not, then you probably have a problem, but you can still
go ahead and create the zone yourself. On the local.mydomain DNS server, you
configure the Forwarders (NOT "Forwarding port") to point to the DNS server
in the mydomain domain. Don't forward to anyone else. Make the DNS server
and ALL your clients are using this DNS server for resolution (in TCP/IP)
IF you do not have any DNS server in local.mydomain, then instead of
creating a delegated zone, you will create a new zone (there should already
be one) on the DNS server in mydomain domain. Then you have to be sure that
you are pointing everyone in local.mydomain domain to the DNS server in
mydomain
