Hi everyone,

I have a LACIE external Hard disk.
It allways worked even when I have formated my HD yesterday friday july 14th.
But I'm afraid I have done someting wrong in the advanced setup.

I could not format my harddisk again, so I went to my advanced setup to
check if my first booth was my cd rom. it was, so it should work. It didn't
and I went back again. I must have done something there since my computer
can't see my external HD anymore now.
Before this it worked just fine.

Anybody any suggestion?
Or maybe a example of how the settings should be in the advance setup page?
I need to install important things from my external HD which I can't right
now.

Please help!?

Have you tried system restore? (Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools,
System Restore). Take it back to when your system was operating OK.

I had a similar problem. I went to device manager and removed the
drive, rebooted, the system recognized it, and all is fine .

Assuming Bob's suggestion didn't solve your problem...

It's not entirely clear precisely what you did or did not do to cause this
problem. I'm assuming that the problem is that the system doesn't detect
your USB external HD, right? There's no problem with your internal boot hard
drive, right? It boots just fine and is completely functional, yes?

So your problem is that you want to format your USB external HD but you're
unable to do so because the system doesn't recognize it. It that the
problem?

If it is, please indicate such and we can go on from there.

If it's not, perhaps you can state your problem more precisely. Tell us
exactly what the problem is and how you've tried to correct it. OK?
