my windows XP keeps on crashing!!!!!!!!!!!!

Up until yesterday morning, my computer mounted on
Windows XP was running fine! I was online surfing the
Internet and all of the sudden it crashed! Since then it
has not stopped; as soon as i turn it on, it gets to the
screen where i have the option to chose between the
different modes: safe mode...When it right passes that
phase and logs into xp, after 5 sec it would shut down
again...it is on the cycle alternating between crashing
and logging.. Would s.o help me?

Looks like you may have got the sasser worm. Are you running a up to date antivirus program and have you got your firewall activated?

Hey join the crowd!
I just installed Windows xp yesterday 6/17/04
Surfed the web for my email and was fine. Today, went to
search web withing 1 minute computer crashed, with message
NT Autority shutdown or something on that order. PC waited
about 1 min, reboot itself and I went back on internet and
problem repeats itself logs data to dmp file and same
thing over. Have no clue, except firewall, good luck.

After installing windows you MUST turn on the firewall before going on the
'net.
