When my Win2K Pro computer is switched on it goes through the Bios and as soon as it wants to enter the Operating System a blue screen for a split second appears and right away after that it restart itself and reboot again over and over
I have tried Win2K CD but it can not repair itself , I have been to recovery Console to repair without any success
When I use the Emergency Repair Disk , the boot up will stop and it says NTLDR is missing
The data and the Hard Drive is intact as I can access all my data by using it as a slave drive
Thank you for your help

What did you do last? install anything? can you get to where you can select
safemode or last known good?
Did it let you log into the \windows instance at the recovery console?
Can you edit the Boot.ini to see if it's intact? c:\boot.ini it maybe
hidden

attrib -h -r c:\boot.ini

On that day apart from surfing as always I did two things and I carried out these two tasks before putting the system on standby and me going to bed, 1- I defragmented the drive, 2- I checked the Spybot/Distroy ( although this was the first time I used yhe Spybot since I installed Norton Personal Firewall 2004 ( I am not sure if this was relevant) however
what I am positive about is when I went through spybot check ,it offered me a file belonged to Internet explorer with the registry icon front of it and with warrning sign on the left, and to check the details of the file, it explained that due to a security hole in internet explorer this file is to be deleted, I shouldn't have done it because it beloged to registry, but trusted the spybot and clicked on the Fixit , the next morning I brought system out of standby as usual to get ready for another daywork I restarted the system to empty cache and that was it since. I am building another system and keep my hard drive and use it as slave drive
It will not go in to safe mode or last good config, it reboot itself
I have in the recovery console and tried different commands such as FIXBOOT or rewrite boot sector , it did not work
I am not sure what command I should follow,.
I hope this might hel
I would like to find out how to load NTLDR ( NTLOADER ) file to the boot secto

kind regards

Did you run a chkdsk on the disk. It sounds like your hibernation may have
caused a problem. Spybot S&D wouldn't remove something important. I've
been using it for well over a year now and haven't had any problems. You
should also be able to extract NTLDR from your install CD. If you're
getting the error message it means the boot sector is probably okay.

This article discusses the Windows NT boot process. You have 2000 but it's
pretty much the same at that stage.

The ERD is no a bootable disk hence the error you get when you try booting.
The ERD is meant to be used in conjunction with the recovery console to
effect operating system repairs.

ERD's are machine specific so you may possibly make matters worse by trying
to use one from another machine.

I don't know how much good this will do, but from a parallel install, run
regedt32.exe, then from the Local Machine Hive, choose Registry|Load Hive,
then navigate to the
%windir%\system32\config
directory on the other install, and find the system file, then Open, in the
Key Name box give it some temp name, then under tempname, navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Select
and look in the Reg_Dword value of "Current", this is the current
controlset, then navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet00x\Control\CrashControl
Where x = the value of "Current" (found above) and set the values as follows

"AutoReboot"=dword:00000000
"CrashDumpEnabled"=dword:00000001
"LogEvent"=dword:00000001
"Overwrite"=dword:00000001
Then navigate back up to "tempname" and choose Unload Hive, and boot your
original install, Autoreboot is now turned off so you should be able to read
the stop error.

If nothing else you can at least recover your data from the parallel install
prior to rebuilding the operating system.

| Allthough I tried Recovery Console to repair O/S boot section, by using
the ERD , unfortunately I did not get
| far enough to find out since I was not sure what command I should type in
..
| I tried CHKDISK, FIXBOOT, MBR, BOOTLOG, and one or two more.
| I have access to a healthy Win2K Pro system, and thats how I created the
ERD including Registry file.
| and I also have the four setup F/Disks and of course the WIN CD.
| and now after I have tried number of options to try to fix the problem, I
find myself in a dead end and not
