You're not going to like the answer but.
Don't use word to create web pages, it does a lousy job.
Use FrontPage.

It certainly does. But, it doesn't stick around long enough to see why.
Don't use Word to create web pages.

| Initially it displays some part of page before it crashes.

and
| saved it as a webpage. I'm using Office 2003 and FP 2003.

Hi Steve,

That's how the school staff members submit their webpages to me. Is there a
easier way?

Create a new page in FrontPage.
Copy the content from word into notepad, and then from notepad to your new
page.

There will be zero formatting applied to the new page, so you'll have to go
through and set it up.

hmmm...don't let them ? you've got a lot of editing to do there.

I was finally able to open it without crashing by going through the main
Prill page...but you've got quite an assortment of broken links, links with
spaces in them...and LOTS of Word generated junk. You've even got a webpage
with an .mht extension.

You're best bet would be to have them submit the page to you and you'll
have to strip out all the garbage and design the pages in FP.

Rob,

I made a lot of mistakes with my first website. Whats the best way to remove
the broken links and the Word generated junk?

Thanks,
Manny

Instead of changing Word into HTML link to the word document directly.
It will then open word on the user's computer and display correctly.

Don't convert the Word Doc Html
See http://sbrenjoy.bizland.com/frontpage/word.htm
