It keeps saying it's not connected.
But when I plug it in (USB) it makes the noise to say that something has been plugged in.
SO IT'S ALL LIES.

Why is it dead?

Does it work on another PC?
Also when you get the connection noise what happens if you click on the icon?

RE: feckit

I'm trying it on a laptop tomorrow.
The icon insists that the camera's not coonnected, but it's a liar.

What Operating System are you using, ie XP, 2000 or 98?

What have you installed or downloaded recently or when did you notice it not working?
MS does not lie, often it's a ID 10 T problem;)

Well, I'm not exactly sure, but I checked message histories and it started not recognising the webcam around the same time I got a digital camera. I didn't think that would be likely to kill my webcam though.
The only things I've downloaded are recent MSN messengers, or the new Windows Live Messenger.

ID 10 T = IDIOT
Could be an issue with the Windows Live Messenger, a conflict may be.
Un-install the drivers for the webcam and then re-install to see if this helps:thumb:

ok check this. go to
start>right click my computer>hit properties>hardware>device manager> do you see the webcam listed there and if you do is ther an exclamation mark in a yellow bubble?

then you will need to reinstall the drivers. If you have the disk that came with the camera just right click the webcam in hardware manager and hit the update drivers button insert the disk and then install the drivers but if you dont have the disk you will need to download the drivers for your camera so if you dont have the disk could you give us the model number of the camera and the manufacturer of the camera and I will try and find the correct driver for it.

I'd already tried that earlier.
It still hasn't recognised the webcam, and the webcam is still dead.
Thanks for all your help though.
I'll probably end up buying a new one now.
=D

Mkay.
Btw do you know if I could use my Nikon CoolPix L3 digital camera as a webcam?
I've heard of people doing that before.
??
