my web browser for internet explorer is gone...how do i get it back?

ive been searchin the web without an web browser through
google for the past weeks, for some reason the web
toolbar ( the place where i type in a web link ex.
www.microsoft.com) i dont even have any of the settings,
i cant click on any back or forward buttons, its all
gone. All that i am left with is the whole page without
any way of browsing the web. ive reset my settings over
and over and i am not computer knowledgable...plz help me
