My Microsoft Antispyware picks up My Way Speedbar as a
threat. It recommends putting it in quarantine. So far I
have done nothing about it, but it comes up every time
spyware runs. Anyone else have this problem and what did
you do? Thanks

"I have done nothing about it." So why not? If you want this, um,
"stuff" to remain on your system, why haven't you opted to always Allow
it (so you don't get later prompted about it again)?

I saw this on a new machine yesterday. Verizon installs it as part of their
admin/support software install on a new DSL hookup.

The toolbar actually looks useful in their implementation, and the search
portion can be removed in add or remove programs, fwiw.

Dell does too. It doesn't look like it behaves as spyware (although it does
use.... COOKIES!!!!) but it doesn't uninstall properly which in turn
irritates me so I removed it manually on principle.

Hmm - now that you mention that: This was a new Dell, and new DSL service.
I was so thrilled at being able to get the DSL going for them (apartment
with two phone lines, and they'd ordered the DSL service on the wrong
line--not the one which ran to the computer.) that I ran out of time. As I
recall it, I think that the Verizon toolbar trumped Dell's--and I left it in
because it offered an easy way into their webmail service and something else
that looked possibly useful.
