My transitions have disappeared too

A couple weeks ago, someone reported suspecting it was related to
Ad-Ware/Spy-Ware.... and the other day someone reported success in getting
them back by cleaning up Ad-Ware/Spy-Ware.

But not enough feedback yet to call it conclusive.

that happened to me too and i cleaned up the hardware but still no transitions... ive also lost the ability to do the credits :(
 
Hello there,

This problem has attracted the interest of Microsoft, but there are no
solutions at this time.

The ONLY way you can restore the missing files is to re-install them,
therefore get the full version of Movie Maker (Do not do the install over
the internet). Be sure to reboot your computer before doing the install.

problem with spy and adware recently, I have also cleaned up my computer
since. and only noticed the disappeared transitions and effects after
cleaning it up. I installed directX 9, which didn't solve the problem
either. Does anyone have more ideas?
