My subreport prints only one column when it should print more.

I have a subreport that I'm trying to get to print two
columns. When you run the subreport by itself, this works
fine. When I run it with the main report, the formatting
disapears.

I've tried the solution offered in microsoft help
(In the subreport, change Column Layout to Across, Then
Down and, on the main report, leave the CanGrow property
set to Yes for the subreport control. The subreport
control will display multiple columns and expand as
needed. ) but this does nothing.

Does anybody have an alternative solution?

Thanks!

Your subreport control must be two columns wide in the design view. The
layout must go across then down.

In Access 2002, using Access 2000 file format, the only way I can re-create
the problem is to draw the Subreport Control on the main Report to a width
of only one column. "CanGrow" only allows vertical growth, not horizontal
growth, so has no effect on the width.

If I make the Subreport Control as wide as the total width of the number of
columns I want to show (plus the gutter width), then it displays all the
columns in the Report embedded in the Subreport Control.

Please post any follow-ups or clarification here in the newsgroup, not by
e-mail. Thanks.
