The Soundstorm on my A7N8X-D sounds like a watch. I get
"tick...tick...tick" all day long. And the sound is pretty awful,
full of static. Its always been a bit crappy (I've had it for a year)
but lately, its unbearable. Any ideas?

My setup:

A7N8X-D
Barton XP2500+
WD 100GB
Mushkin PC2700 Lvl2
ATI AIW7500
LG Burner
LiteOn DVD
Antec Sonata
Vantec Aeroflow

For a start you'll be wanting to install the nForce Drivers 3.13.

And the latest BIOS for your board.

If that doesn't help, also ensure trat your cd drives use digital audio
output, and mute the analogue inputs they were connected to.

If that fails, then there are some threads on the nForcersHQ forum
discussing this very subject... there are various suggestions including
turning on/off ACPI/APIC, although this requires a repair install of XP/2K
at the minimum.

Check out my FAQ for Drivers/BIOS links.

Another thing to check is in the soundstorm application. Make sure that
Digitized Input is set to off. I suffered the same problem with my rev.
1.04 A7N8X-Deluxe but found that once I switched that setting, sound was
alot clearer.
