my sif files got associated to txt files now it will not read them

My answer file was opend using notepad but when it was
open the box was not unchecked to always use this program
for these file types now I cannot get it back to the old
file type >sif is not listed in the directory for file
types either to change it.

From a command prompt;
assoc .sif=
to remove the file type association.
