Every time I try to open a menu in Windows explorer by
right clicking on a folder, Windows explorer freezes and I
have to shut it down. When I look in the event viewer, it
says that "The shell stopped unexpectedly and the shell
was restarted."
I also get a lot of COM+ errors, even though I don't think
I use any programs that would use that service. I had the
COM+ services disabled, but then set them to automatic,
but that only led to further error messages, such as:
"The COM+ Event System attempted to fire the
EventObjectChange::ChangedSubscription event but received
a bad return code. HRESULT was 80040201."
I tried reinstalling windows using the "repair
installation" option, but that did not fix the problem.
Any insight into this would be most appreciated.
