I had installed My Search toolbar (I know it installs spyware but I liked
being able to highlight search items). It disappeared about 1 week ago and I
can not get it to re-install no matter what I do. Did an IE update or XP
update do something to block it?

I would suggest keeping it off. These do nothing but cause
trouble. Stay away from any of those Smiley Central
toolbars. They like to put spyware on your computer.

I agree with Brian... Having crap spyware for the simple desire to have
search terms highlighted is a bad idea IMO. Lucky it is gone> Do a Spyware
scan and look in Add/Remove programs to be sure its out of there for good.
You *don't* want it.

Now, if you want highlighting available without the Spyware part do one (or
more) of the three suggestions I offer here:

Download and install Internet Explorer 5 Web Accessories (works with IE6)
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/previous/webaccess/default.mspx
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/previous/webaccess/ie5wa.mspx

You can use also the Google toolbar as well. If you install Google toolbar,
my suggestion is *do not use the advanced features* ("page rank", for
example). They are kind of nosy. Otherwise it is fine, and will highlight.

Lastly, without any of the tools mentioned, if one does a Google search, and
the web page you select offers a Cached page, that will automatically
highlight your search term entries.
