The printer is excellent. (for the price) The copier does an excellent job.
The Scanner is the worst that I have seen in 11 years since I bought my
first hand scanner. (This is worse than that one. My elcheapo ($69) Canon
scanner is five times as good as this one.

The scanner is unusable. There are horrible spots and extra artificial
patterns generated by the driver, or the scanner - I don't know which it is.
An increase in resolution makes the scan worse instead of better. This
scanner is not even usable for quick website stuff, and forget about
scanning for DTP or Printing.

I don't understand how the copy function works so well and the scanner
function works so poorly.

I will keep mine to print and copy, but it won't be doing much scanning.

Hi Kirk
i have the HP PSC 1205 and are fairly pleased with it ,it is compact and i
have no problem with the scanner or copier, my only moan is that on the
printing text side it will not let you default to greyscale, the only way is
to remove the colour ink cartridge every time you print text, when i asked
the help site they said it is aimed at the photo side of the market and not
as a text printer as such,in other words tough luck, but as i say other than
that i pleased with the purchase which was under £100
