My printer only prints code????

I have a Brother MFC 9500 printer and it has suddenly decided to print code
and not what is sent for print? I've deleted the printer Driver and reset it
via Windows XP but no luck??? Anything else I could try????

Change the cable between PC and printer. This may indicate that the cable is
bad, if the prints are printing out un-readable text.
