Sound like you've used uncompressed pictures in your presentation. Are these
from a digital camera? Are they all around 750K-1Mb? If they are, they are
too big to include so many in one presentation.
Even if you have already resized your photos, you need to reduce them
further. There are two ways you can do this:
1) If you can open up your presentation at least once more time, go and
double click one of the pictures so the Format window appears. There should
be a "Compress" button in that window. Click it, and make sure you have all
these selected: "Web/Screen", "All pictures in document", "Compress pictures"
and "Delete cropped areas". This maye reduce the size of your presentation
up to 50%. But it may also not do much more thatn 5%...
2) Resize all your picture files (not from within PowerPoint). You will
need a program that can resize all your pictures at once (batch resizing).
Hopefully you can reduce the size of each picture to around 100-200K. (the
JPEGs will still look reasonably good at 1024x764). Then you will need to
make a new presentation and re-insert all those pictures after they have been
resized.
