my pictures

i use windows xp home with sp2. in the 'my pictures' folder i have over 500
pictures of a building project over a period of 2 years, can i use 'my
pictures' to sort the pictures by date or do i need 3rd party software? if i
do need 3rd party sofware which is the best one? i don't need to edit my
pictures in any way.

Open your My Pictures folder...
Go to...View / Details...
Go to...View / Choose Details...
Maybe one of the Date columns
will sort your files.

Open the folder.
Click on the View tab on your top bar (the tab to the right of Edit).
A list will open, click on Choose Details
A list will open, check the box Date Created and then OK.
Click on the View tab again.
Click on Arrange Icons by and then click on created.
