My Pictures Folder Crashing...

This happens every so often but when I try to browse
my "My Pictures" folder and I click on some of the sub
folders Windows explorer shuts down.
I'm not sure why this is or how to get around it. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.

Also I don't know if this is connected but it also seems
to affect the way that my drives are grouped in "My
Computer"
I've scanned for viruses etc and nothing comes up so I'm
not sure what else could be causing it. There are only a
small collection of jpg and gif images in there but it
won't let me view them.
