My Pictures Files

I have a issue that has been bothering me for the longest time and never did
anything about it.
My pictures file seems to have morphed itself to another file, perhaps by
something I did or not.
When I go to save pictures to My Pictures, It seems to go to 2 folders.
When I check properties of the second one, it points to the first one like a
shortcut.
My question is, can I safely delete the second one?

In the Properties of the actual folder you should see:

Type: File Folder

Location: C:\Documents and Settings\>user
name<\My Documents

In the properties of the suspected shortcut....does
it say..."Shortcut to My Pictures"? You can delete
that one.
